Of course we all know the answer. Drink lots of water! But there is more you can do, and it's easy!

Introducing Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is one of the most successful active ingredients in the cosmetic industry and in aesthetic medicine due to its incredible properties.

Although it seems that many cosmetic products are losing popularity over time, hyaluronic acid is one of the substances that offers the best results and with minimal or no unwanted effects.

What is hyaluronic acid?

In general terms, hyaluronic acid is an organic substance from the group of glycosaminoglycans, which in turn is a type of carbohydrate with biological functions within the body.

Hyaluronic acid is produced naturally by the human body and is present in a large number of different organs and tissues such as the skin, the eye, the joints, the heart and even the umbilical cord.

Being produced by the body itself, hyaluronic acid is a harmless substance that does not cause adverse reactions. The body's cells are constantly producing this hyaluronic acid for its incredible function: to retain water.

A single molecule of hyaluronic acid can contain up to 1,000 times its own weight in water and this is necessary especially in tissues that require constant moisturizing such as the interior of synovial joints, the eye or the dermis.

Imagine soaking your skin in water all day long!

In the skin, hyaluronic acid helps maintain proper hydration and for that reason, it is often so well tolerated by the tissues and cells of the body.

What benefits does hyaluronic acid offer to the skin?

• Shiny skin with better firmness.

• Provides volume to the skin given its ability to retain water

• Reduce wrinkles and eliminate expression lines

• Prevents the formation of new wrinkles

• Being better hydrated, the skin is more resistant to external aggressions

• Gives vitality to damaged or dull skin

• Moisturizes the skin naturally

• Promotes skin repair

Hyaluronic acid and its function as an antiaging agent

The ability of hyaluronic acid to maintain tissue hydration is key to reducing the effects of aging on the skin. In youth, the skin has a certain degree of hydration, but as the years progress, the skin loses adequate moisture for different reasons.

After the age of 35, the skin tends to thin out and the amount of hyaluronic acid begins to decrease, making the skin look older and wrinkled.

All this natural aging process is accelerated by exposure to UVB and UVB rays, so the use of sunscreen creams is recommended.

One of the great advantages of hyaluronic acid, in addition to its safety levels, is the large number of different presentations in which it exists, mainly serums, creams, tablets and even injections (which must be placed by a professional).

Does it have side effects?

In some people, after the application of hyaluronic acid, there may be some swelling and redness that disappears on its own after a few hours. This active substance is usually significantly well tolerated by people, cases of hypersensitivity are rare.
